OUr story...
Sharing the Stage was an idea that originated on a morning ferry commute in December 2009 and formed on Vashon Island in 2010.
We wanted to produce shows in professional venues, where kids would be psyched to go, feel respected, and not be told they can't dance the way they want to dance.
We wanted to acknowledge the passion, hard work, and dedication that kids put into the music that means so much to them.
We wanted student openers to rehearse and perform with professional musician/mentors. Those mentors have consistently encouraged students to seize their moment to express their own voice. And they have done just that.
Our first show was in 2010, and we have produced between two and four shows a year following that:
